Which are the characteristics of the Valle Stura?
It’s simply gorgeous! From Borgo San Dalmazzo to the Colle della Maddalena the landscape changes a lot.
…and also, the Valle Stura is a road.
It is the routo, historical route of the Provence. It is an open valley, rich of contradictions but alive: it’s not a museum neither a graveyard.
A Pontebernardo there is an echo-museum of sheep-farming: it shows that sheep-farming still exists and that it still is valorized. In fact over there there’s a dairy , there is trading of the sheep’s meat…it definitely is a lively place!
……the Valle Stura also is a community.
In these lands, the Occitania is becoming real. Not yet a myth it’s day by day becoming a reality thanks to new politics that are promoting their cultural identity through music, schools, fairs and so on.
…Why coming to the Valle Stura?
In the spring it is typified by an exuberant nature, in autumn by shaded colors, in winter by its calm and in spring by its freshness.
The Vinadio’s Fort, the echo-museum of sheep-farming in Pontebernando and the Centre of Documentation in Sambuco are worth to be visited. The sanctuary of Sant’ Anna di Vinadio, which is the highest in Europe and the thermals baths (set in an alpine amphitheater, one of a kind in the western Alps) in Bagni are worth the whole vacation! From Berserzio is possible to take the chairlift also in the summer time and than you can’t miss the hike to the Roburent lake or the Vens little lakes.
